GLEE
Am I the only one who is obsessed with glee? When the commercials first started airing for the show a few months ago I wanted nothing to do with it. I assumed it was just going to be a rip off of high school musical. BUT, my roommates got me hooked and now I am completely addicted. The character
s are great and the stories are funny and dramatic but believable enough. One thing I love about the show is the great diversity of the characters. One of my previous posts highlighted a show with a main star in a wheelchair. Glee also features a character in a wheelchair, and almost every other minority imaginable. African american, asian, jewish, gay, a character who stutters, the list goes on. The show has even won awards for it's diversity and message of acceptance. The show has been on a hiatus for a few weeks now and comes back on tonight. I am super excited and maybe some of you who have never seen it will turn it on at least once an see what im talking about. Let me know what you think!!

That sounds like a good show. Its not often that you see so many diverse groups mixed together. I will have to check it out sometime.
ReplyDeleteApparently I live under a rock because I just found out about this Glee phenonmenon. I got the most recent issue of Entertainment Weekly in whcih there is a cover story about Glee. There was a solid 4 pages devoted to it. I can't turn around now without hearing or seeing something about it. This always happens to me, I'm last to hear about a new fab and then I can't escape from hearing about it. I've still yet to see it for myself yet though.
ReplyDeleteI never watched it but on a sidenote did see the ads and commercial for it and the teacher, I don't know her name but she was hilarious in the movie Role Models.
ReplyDeleteit find glee especially interesting because it romanticizes being a social outcast, it almost makes it look cool! this show is certainly a refreshing change from romanticizing doctors and real housewives and everything else. i find myself humming the songs, don't hate!
