Of course this whole saga wouldnt be complete without a comment from the prez. In an "off the record" portion of a CNBC interview on monday, Obama refered to Kanye as a jackass in regards to the whole VMA situation. People in the interview room who overheard this comment imidiately posted it on twitter, the video got leaked and quickly taken down but its still out there and I have attached the link here. The president has gotten alot of slack for this comment and comments like it in the recent past but personally I find it refreshing. He said what everyone else was thinking so whats the problem? He didnt call Kanye a jackass in an adress to congress or a state of the union speech, it was a side comment before an interview. Give him a break. I think its really nice to see the president this way. He is human. He watched the VMAs or at least heard about them. Its nice to know that he actually lives on the same planet as us, which was questionable with our past president. And he is OBVIOUSLY a closet Taylor fan... well il keep telling myself that anyway because it makes me love Obama just a little bit more. I would love to know what Kanye thinks of the president now, he had so much to say about George W. Bush hating black people... im sure this wont be the last we hear from either one of them.

Well it seems the Presidency it finally become a modern office rather then the stuff shirt affair that it once was. The media and certain individuals have already been trying to cast a bad light on Obama on at least two separate occasions. One was the Beer Summit, which was ridiculed by many; I thought it was brilliant. The other occasion I can recall is the Obama's trip to the Grand Canyon, where Michelle wore shorts; she was critizcized for wearing shorts in 110 degree weather! Many find it tough to face a President that is down to earth, and they constantly seek faults. I believe that Obama is doing fine and should continue to do what he's doing.

ReplyDeleteI do like how it seems Obama is more connected to "the regualar real world." I always felt as other presidents were of the monarchy type class. I feel like Obama is so much more connected and instances like these just prove it further

ReplyDeleteI like what he said about the bug swatting thing, in the that same interview. It was interesting to hear him in that type of format. Recently, I heard a lost secret interview with JFK, and it was also cool because he also was speaking as a normal person.
